Kuwait real estate market offering wide range of apartments and villas available in Kuwait, both within and outside enclosed compounds.
Relocation consultants are most frequently used by multi-national companies and larger institutions moving into the region. Some consultants provide practical and cultural help to those new to the region.
First, the structure and volume of the real estate market beyond single-family housing
is distorted when compared to a more freely balanced real estate market. Indeed, a
comparison of the annual transactions in Kuwait and the United States (Exhibit 2)
demonstrates that:
䡲 The Kuwaiti market is dominated by transactions of multi-apartment
buildings;
䡲 Commercial properties are strongly under-represented;
䡲 Some categories (such as hotels and land

) are not present in the Kuwaiti
private market at all; and
䡲 Transactions of industrial and warehouse properties in Kuwait consist
of only warehouses and account for less than 1% of transacted value,
while in the U.S. this segment makes up 8.5% of total market turnover.
